Centract’s Management Team
Phil West has been with Centract since its inception and was instrumental in setting up the initial appraisal network within Central and Eastern Canada. From 1999 to 2008, Phil held the position of VP Field Operations and was responsible for the development, management and growth of the appraisal network in Canada. In 2008, Mr. West was appointed General Manager of Centract, and in 2011 he was promoted again to President of Centract. He has been mandated with the responsibility of continuing to strengthen Centract’s industry leading appraisal network and focus on emerging real estate business intelligence tools. Prior to joining Centract, Phil was VP Professional Services for Royal LePage Commercial Inc. and was in charge of residential appraisal services for both Central and Eastern Canada. He brings a wealth of appraisal industry and management experience to Centract Settlement Services.
EVP, Business Development – Appraisal Management Services
James MacQueen joined Centract in April 2013 and brings over 20 years of proven real estate-related business growth and leadership experience including domestic and international business development, senior-level client relations in the public and private sectors, sales leadership, change management and enterprise strategy.
He has lived and worked from coast-to-coast in Canada (Fredericton, Toronto and Vancouver) and worked in major markets throughout the United States. His past business development pursuits included Canada, US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
In this role James is responsible the growth of the appraisal management and inspection service businesses.
James is a graduate of University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management where he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA). He sits on the Advisory Board for the Ontario Chapter of Children’s Wish Foundation and is chairman of one of its largest annual fundraising events.
Mark Houghton joined the Brookfield Residential Property Services group of companies in 1994. He has held a number of senior positions across the portfolio including roles in Operations, Finance, IS/IT and Business Development. Mark holds a B.Com from the University of Windsor and is a Six Sigma Black Belt in process excellence.
VP Supply Chain
Terri Austin joined Centract in 2003 and brings twenty-three years of experience in appraisal services. Terri enjoyed success as the President and Owner of Mari-Tech Appraisal & Inspection, Moncton, New Brunswick before joining Centract in her role overseeing the management of our appraisal suppliers. Focused on managing 1,400 appraisers nationally, she works closely with her team of appraisal managers to ensure our process and service level agreements are met and strategically partners with the best appraisal firms in the country. She holds a BA from the University of New Brunswick and is also an accredited appraiser, holding both the AACI and P.APP designations from the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Terri is a Six Sigma Green Belt in process excellence.
Yvonne von Jena
Director of Product Development & Marketing
Yvonne von Jena is responsible for working with our corporate team to develop products that are meaningful for our clients and that maintain Centract’s position as the innovation and thought leader in the industry. Previously, Yvonne has held business development and new market development roles globally for Asset Inc., First Canadian Title and Oracle. She has worked as an investment banker at Deacon Capital, in corporate banking at RBC as well as a management consultant to start-up technology ventures. She has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management in Toronto and a BA in Spanish from the University of Western Ontario. Yvonne is also a Six Sigma Green Belt in process excellence.
Director of Analytics
Andrew is responsible for the development of analytics initiatives across Brookfield RPS with a focus on Centract’s real estate data products. He works closely with key business partners to design innovative solutions such as the TrendPointTM platform, mobile API’s and advanced regression models.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2008, Andrew worked for a start-up affinity program run by Futura Loyalty, American Express’ Global Client Consulting Group and held a variety of roles on municipal, provincial and federal election campaigns.
Andrew is an HBA graduate from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Darren joined Centract to launch The Home Inspection Network in January 2012. Before Centract Darren owned and operated a residential construction business for 10 years, owned and operated his own home inspection business where he was a certified home inspector for four years, and worked as a certified ecoENERGY advisor and trainer under NRCan’s ecoENERGY Retrofit Program for three years. Darren also spent 16 years working as a professional actor, singer and dancer; performing in over 30 productions throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
